[2023/10/20 16:13] Sonja Bikergrrl: Greeettttttttings Adventurers, some players get to fight mighty fire-breathing dragons, you get stone lizards coughing on you.
[2023/10/20 16:15] Sonja Bikergrrl: Quick recap: you're locked in the bottom chamber of a tower, there's four pedastals, with one just having a hole in it at the top, surrounded by pottery shards, the other three have lizard statues on them. Green haze is coming out of the hole - and gray haze from the lizard statues. And, just to add to the fun, there's a skeleton in the room, looking like it is about to attack.

[2023/10/20 16:16] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben was attempting to re-assemble the pottery shards using her dwarven crafting experience.... even if much of that was as a young child
[2023/10/20 16:17] Sonja Bikergrrl: The shards are quite numerous... how do you plan keeping them together? And, Leesha, Dahlia?

[2023/10/20 16:18] Alicia Frakture: Leesha unplugs the gas hole she was at to face the skeleton.

[2023/10/20 16:19] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Which I don't think we're geared with.... is the pedestal with the broken lizard emitting gas?
[2023/10/20 16:20] Sonja Bikergrrl: okay... so, Debben has a heap of shards that look like an incomplete lizard, but it'll fall apart quickly. Dahlia stuffs rags into the lizards' mouths, which slows the gas down, but doesn't prevent it. And green gas billows from the open hole.
[2023/10/20 16:20] Sonja Bikergrrl: Now Leesha took her finger out - yes
[2023/10/20 16:20] Sonja Bikergrrl: The skeleton takes a swipe at Dahlia... oh boy... we start with a crit.
[2023/10/20 16:21] Sonja Bikergrrl: Rather badly injured... Dahlia won't want to be hit again.
[2023/10/20 16:21] Sonja Bikergrrl: Now what?
[2023/10/20 16:22] Alicia Frakture: Leesha is taking a swing at the skeleton

[2023/10/20 16:23] Sonja Bikergrrl: Other than a few knitting needles and a half finished scarf, nothing you can see is of any use, other than knitting a scarf

[2023/10/20 16:28] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: She frowns, attempting to use her hands to keep the lizard intact for long enough to set it up on top of the green gas hole and see if that is at least enough to solve the puzzle. "Dahlia, I might have some honey in my pack we can use to hold this together."

[2023/10/20 16:29] Sonja Bikergrrl: Placing the pile of shards on the pedastal, you see the green gas going into the lizard - which starts emitting grey gas now.
[2023/10/20 16:29] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (dinadrone): rushes to get the honey from the pack trying hard to stay out of the range of any swinging skeletons or other baddies
[2023/10/20 16:30] Sonja Bikergrrl: Skeleton takes a swipe at Leesha.... very badly injuring her.
[2023/10/20 16:30] Sonja Bikergrrl: And at this point... you all get to make a saving throw vs poison
[2023/10/20 16:31] Alicia Frakture: *saving throw is D12?
[2023/10/20 16:31] Sonja Bikergrrl: Dahlia - must roll over 10. Leesha - must roll over 14. Debben, must roll over 13.

[2023/10/20 16:33] Sonja Bikergrrl: Leesha and Dahlia are getting a little sleepy... -1 to attack rolls. The skeleton doesn't change, but somehow you can tell it's a little bit stronger.
[2023/10/20 16:34] Sonja Bikergrrl: Leesha, you said you'd attack again (with an 18 rolled) - Dahlia, Debben, actions?
[2023/10/20 16:34] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (dinadrone): brings the honey after retrieving from pack still avoiding the reach of the skeleton
[2023/10/20 16:35] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben makes use of it to try and adhere the different cracks together so she can leave it be long enough to fight.
[2023/10/20 16:37] Sonja Bikergrrl: okay... Leesha? 18 hits... d6 for damage
[2023/10/20 16:39] Sonja Bikergrrl: d6 roll of 2, plus the 2 bonus, gives just enough to shatter the skeleton. It collapses into a heap of bones. Now you got a sticky heap of pottery on the pedestal, with four streams of gray gas issuing from the lizards' mouths

[2023/10/20 16:39] Alicia Frakture: Since they are working on statue repair Leesha is going for the cloth to clog the nozzles
[2023/10/20 16:40] Sonja Bikergrrl: did you do something to annoy the dice gods...
[2023/10/20 16:40] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: So the grey gas is also not the good one, hmmm.
[2023/10/20 16:41] Alicia Frakture: Sat down at the table? Kidding.
[2023/10/20 16:41] Sonja Bikergrrl: Debben and Leesha both feel sleepy and get a -1 to attack rolls (in addition to previous). Dahlia saves and actually wakes up a little

[2023/10/20 16:48] Sonja Bikergrrl: No, I said there was what looked like a crudely painted doorway (ie., a painting of a door)

[2023/10/20 16:49] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Oooh, but we also have oil and honey, perhaps a moist towel would do better at blocking the gas. "Here, try the oil on that one, I'll try soaking the rags of this one and try to block the outgassing."

[2023/10/20 16:52] Sonja Bikergrrl: okay... no matter what you do with honey and oil and rags, the lizard figures still issue gray gas. The reassembled lizard collapses into sticky shards again, the hole underneath still issuing green gas. And... because it never rains, it pours, the bones rise up and reassemble into a skeleton again.

[2023/10/20 16:57] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Running low on ideas of what to do here.... Well since the lizard collapsed she moves it to one side and inspects the hole, looking for ways to stop it up.

[2023/10/20 17:05] Sonja Bikergrrl: waiting to clarify what Debben is doing... the hole? Is about an inch across or so
[2023/10/20 17:08] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: I've been trying to plug up these darn things all session, what is going wrong that they aren't able to be stopped?
[2023/10/20 17:08] Sonja Bikergrrl: You've been trying to plug the lizard statues?
[2023/10/20 17:09] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Well fine, I'll try to plug the hole -under- the statue then
[2023/10/20 17:09] Sonja Bikergrrl: so... just to clarify... you're lifting a statue, and plugging the hole under the statue?
[2023/10/20 17:10] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: well, at the moment I'm at the hole with the broken one
[2023/10/20 17:11] Sonja Bikergrrl: okay... knocking on the painted door doesn't do anything you can tell, other than you've knocked on stone. The painting is quite two dimensional. Plugging the hole at the empty pedastal stops the green gas coming out of that one, but there are still three lizards exhaling gray gas. The skeleton finishes reforming itself.

[2023/10/20 17:12] Alicia Frakture: Skeleton sitting in front of the fireplace. Leesha is going to sit in the chair, maybe that does something
[2023/10/20 17:13] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben will work on moving to each statue in turn, lifting it and attempting to plug up the hole, recovering the rags from the mouth of the thing as needed

[2023/10/20 17:14] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (dinadrone): steps away from the painting and looks around the room to see if there is any wall that looks most similar to the one in the painting especially the one where the doorway had been that disappeared when we walked through
[2023/10/20 17:16] Sonja Bikergrrl: okay... the walls don't look any different where ever you look, other than one has a painting of a door... Leesha gets comfy, and now only one lizard is exhaling gray gas. The skeleton takes a swipe at Debben.

[2023/10/20 17:17] Alicia Frakture: *Wait, thought the skeleton had crumbled, did it reform?*
[2023/10/20 17:17] Sonja Bikergrrl: the skeleton knocks the last statue off the pedestal it sits on, it falls and shatters. Now there's two shattered lizard statues, three plugged holes and one hole issueing green gas.
[2023/10/20 17:17] Sonja Bikergrrl: There's the making of a song there.
[2023/10/20 17:17] Sonja Bikergrrl: It did, yes
[2023/10/20 17:18] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Get the heck off me!" Debben scowls at the skeleton, smacking at it with her spear so she can get back to filling strange holes she only met today.
[2023/10/20 17:18] Sonja Bikergrrl: The skeleton looks - although, without eyes, how does it see? - down at the broken statue, and then it gives a shrug and sits down - on Leeshas' lap.
[2023/10/20 17:19] Sonja Bikergrrl: hit, d6 for damage
[2023/10/20 17:21] Sonja Bikergrrl: The spear does little damage to the skeleton. It doesn't seem inclined to do anything.
[2023/10/20 17:21] Sonja Bikergrrl: Leesha & Dahlias' sleepiness passes, now the gray gas is disappating
[2023/10/20 17:24] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Could have smashed the lizards right from the start," she sighs, though leaving them be fore now. "Or just picked them up. Going to have to remember to check for that next time."
[2023/10/20 17:24] Sonja Bikergrrl: Mmhmm -.-
[2023/10/20 17:25] Sonja Bikergrrl: Now the gray gas has completely cleared... that painted doorway, is now a real doorway. But what lies on the other side...
